About Me
A little bit about who I am
Hi, I'm Bob.
After a rewarding career in software development, I now spend my time building personal projects, learning new technologies, and enjoying life with my family.
I've always believed that you make your own happiness. For me, that has meant staying curious, continuing to learn, and never being afraid to try something new.
My professional career spanned more than 35 years in software development, where I worked as a programmer, systems analyst, software engineer, and information systems manager. I enjoyed solving business problems by creating practical software that made people's jobs easier. Looking back, what I enjoyed most wasn't just writing code—it was understanding how things worked and finding better ways to solve problems.
Retirement hasn't changed that.
These days I build websites, utilities, and software simply because I enjoy creating things. Every project on this website is something I've designed, programmed, or experimented with. I believe software should be simple, well-structured, well-commented, and easy for people to use. Technology never stops changing, and neither do I.
Outside of programming, my greatest joy is spending time with my wife, our children and grandchildren, two dogs, and two cats. My wife and I have been happily together for over twenty five years, and some of our favorite days are spent exploring mountain roads, walking through forests, and visiting beautiful wineries. There's something peaceful about sitting in a vineyard with a glass of wine, surrounded by nature.
I've always been fascinated by science in all its forms—from mathematics and physics to computers, astronomy, and artificial intelligence. The more I learn, the more I realize there is still so much to discover.
I also believe that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and equality. Life is better when we respect one another and appreciate our differences.
And if you ever wonder what you'll find on my TikTok feed... it's probably cats doing something hilarious or babies discovering the world for the first time. Those videos always make me smile.
Thanks for visiting my site. I hope something here inspires you to learn, create, or simply smile a little.
